Information:
Declared a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service in 1966, The Mississippi Petrified Forest was acquired by R.J. 'Bob' and Shirl Schabilion in 1962 as a way to preserve and protect this resource for the enjoyment of future generations. An RV campground can be found here, fully equipped with water, sewer, electric, showers and restrooms, along with a designated area for tent camping. A pavilion that accommodates up to 200 people is also available for rent.
